As much as I love Open Office and all it offers, I have found a glitch. As any writer knows, word count is important. When using Microsoft Word, one can simply highlight the interested area and receive a word count. It does not work that way with Open Office. No matter how much is highlighted, the word count remains that of the entire document. Bummer.
To rectify this situation, I have to copy one written page to an empty page. Then, the word count is done. (See, a recent writing assignment required 350 words per page.)
If anyone knows of how to correct this glitch, please let me know. More writing is on the horizon. 🙂
