On this morning’s news there was a news clip about Haiti relief efforts taking place at the federal government level. Apparently, former Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton have put together a relief line whereby citizens can donate funds.
As part of the awareness, Bush spoke. “Don’t send water, don’t send clothes. Send money. We’ll use it as needed”. The green tea in my mouth almost came out my nose. Who’s he kidding? He had no fiscal responsibility when he was President. What makes me think he’s going to have it now? (That’s a personal commentary on my part).
Anyways, two groups I do trust are the NHL and UNICEF. The NHL has made a donation to the Haiti relief effort. On yesterday’s NHL Live! Show (broadcast on the NHL Network), information on how we can donate was given. It is through UNICEF.
If you are interested in making a donation, go to the UNICEF website at:
www.unicef.org . Any amount helps. There is no such thing as “it doesn’t matter” or “the amount’s too small”.
