Where authors and readers come together!

Have Some Tact..

This Internet brings out all kinds of nuts. I recently updated my listing to numerous sites in an attempt to increase publicity. What’s happened? I forgot about the existence of tactless product promotions that exist out there. I have received BORING comments about how someone just “loves” certain things they see on my site. Well, in the comment, individuals leave their website address. It turns out that the commenter sells the products. Spare me…

If you sell a product that provides miracle cures, is the best thing since cut cheese or one that you simply cannot live without…..keep it to yourself. It doesn’t belong on this site.

And, listing these type of comments is an unsolicited form of advertisement. It is not appreciated at all. In addition, the comment is a negative reflection of yourself and product.

If you are truly interested in letting my readers know about a product that may help them, contact me.

That’s all there is to that.

No Re-writes Found Here…

I wanted all my readers to know about a situation that is rampant within the Internet world. People are paid to find articles and re-write them. These articles, in turn, are posted to other websites to make it appear as if all of the work is original. It is not considered plagiarism since the wording is changed. Besides promoting laziness, it is an insult to those who actually develop their own ideas and words. It is disgusting, in my opinion.

Anyways, please know that all of my blog posts are my original wording and work. NOTHING IS A REWRITE. When I post information from another location, I state where it is coming from. Credit is given where due.

Thanks for reading….:)

To Twitter Or Not To Twitter…That Is The Question…

I have been approached by someone to start “Twittering”. Apparently, this is the new and fun way to become involved in social networking via the Internet. Please pardon my ignorance, but I don’t understand.

With all the ways to invade one’s privacy nowadays, especially via online communications, isn’t this just another way for Big Brother to watch one’s every move? (That is, if one wants to update the site on a regular basis).

I have heard of people involved in the Twitter community as having received book deal offers, real life networking opportunities, and other positive effects involving advancing one’s career. However, I need to wonder…..should I listen to my intuition telling me “no, you’re uncomfortable, this is strange”…or start Twittering in the hopes of advancing my career?

What do you think? Is Twittering a good idea? Why or why not? Any feedback is appreciated. I’d like to hear about others’ experiences with this social networking craze. I’m confused….
